Sporting good times

The Capital region is host to two big sporting events this week – each of them world-class.

Cross-country ski enthusiasts can take in the Canadian Ski Marathon as it winds its way through Western Quebec – from the town of Lachute to Gatineau Park.

And basketball fans can take in the Capital Hoops Classic, an annual contest between uOttawa’s and Carleton University’s men’s and women’s teams. (Go Ravens!)

These hugely popular events are just two on Ottawa’s packed sports calendar.

Catching a game is a great way to entertain a client or enjoy some leisure time. And there are some great options on both sides of the river all year long.

Sports occupy a special spot in local culture – here in Ottawa and in communities across Canada.

It’s no wonder that sport tourism is a $6.8 billion a year business in Canada.

Opportunity abounds, and the headquarters of Canada’s sports tourism alliance – along with several sports’ national governing bodies – are located right here in Ottawa.

If you, a business contact, or a family member are big sport fans, we can help get you to the game (or even in the game, in some cases), help you seal the deal, or just make an unforgettable memory.
