(Hazel)Nuts for brunch

The best of breakfast and of lunch…who doesn’t love a good brunch?

And brunch, like most things, is better with chocolate.

On this World Nutella Day (yes, apparently, that’s a thing), we have this hat-tip to some of Ottawa’s best places for brunch options that put the creamy, chocolaty, hazel-nutty spread in a starring role.

Just west of downtown, in Little Italy, Flapjack’s offers Nutella-stuffed french toast.

Café Latte Cino in the east Ottawa surburb of Orleans highly-rated banana and Nutella waffles.

Drive to the southern suburb of Manotick, where you will find Mimi’s In Manotick and their delectable Nutella-filled doughnuts. (Call ahead for hours and to ensure they have that variety that day, as selection changes often.)

Honourable mention:

While it doesn’t use the TM’d spread, West Wellington’s A Thing for Chocolate café has a delicious sweet crepe option called La Simple. It features a homemade filling with nuts and your choice of milk or dark chocolate.

Happy Nutella Day to all celebrating.
